LEON THE CHAMELEON
This is Melanie's first book! It was created in an illustration
class at University taught by Michèle Lemieux.
Published in 2001, Leon the chameleon always turns the
opposite color of his surroundings. He discovers that what
makes him different is also what makes him special.
Readers can also learn about complementary colors!
Leon the Chameleon turns 20 this year!
AUGUSTINE
Has to move from the South pole to the North pole.
Augustine uses art to help cope with change. And her special
talent will help break the ice when it comes to making new friends!
This book is filled with art references. And just like Augustine,
Melanie knows what it's like to be the new kid at school. Her
family moved a lot when she was a child, from her native Quebec
to Calgary, Winnipeg and Toronto, before returning again
to her home province.
CHESTER
This furry cat was first
drawn in university.
He resurfaced in 2007 when Melanie had an idea that suited
this cat with a gigantic ego. Chester uses his red marker
to re-write and re-draw Melanie's story about a mouse.
CHESTER'S BACK
Chester returns and is determined to be the star of this book.
Melanie eventually gives in but on her own terms.
Chester, careful what you wish for!
CHESTER'S MASTERPIECE
Chester takes matters into his own paws and
makes his very own book. Melanie gives him writing
tips via sticky notes.
